Act as SME for SAP FICO

Role Purpose

This role is within a high performing lean SAP RTR group, working closely with SAP and business applications leadership, business decision makers, and end users. Leveraging strong understanding of financial accounting transactions, closing process and reporting; this role will drive high level of support for SAP RTR processes and lead enhancements. Our client will be evaluating S/4 upgrade for which this role will have technical leadership for FICO and related technical impacts.

Position will be NYC based. Limited travel may be required.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for administration of SAP FICO financial process and support all financial users
  • Monitors the very complex coding, reviewing, preparing test data, testing and debugging and implementing of system building
  • Ensures that very complex documentation is completed for all systems designed or modified
  • Monitors very complex analysis and troubleshooting for various business applications
  • Participate in assessment/prioritization of support tickets and enhancements
  • Provide business perspective related to projects and/or problems (for which IT has only technical expertise)
  • Involvement in special IT Projects such as Integration after acquisitions / structural changes, Financial related business process re-engineering/enhancement or SAP upgrade / hot pack updates
  • Act as SME for SAP FICO
  • Lead and facilitate technology project activities such as solutioning, configuration, documentation, unit testing, regression testing
  • Assessment of programs / adaptation where necessary
  • Ensure compatibility of tools and processes as well as evaluate new solutions
  • Provide user training
  • Create and maintain SAP authorization roles for users based on guidelines, and handling of SOA for SAP authorizations incl. Segregation of duties and role reviews
  • Support Audits
  • Support Historical SAP data request (orders, revenue, etc.)
  • Documentation of business processes per guidelines

Role Requirements:
  • 8+ years SAP experience designing, configuring, testing and supporting SAP FICO
  • BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting or Information System, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • S/4 HANA upgrade experience
  • Monitoring of FICO solution design and providing thought leadership
  • Global Chart of Accounts Strong FI/CO experience Extensive experience with GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Bank Accounting, COPA and Interface experience with AP solutions like Concur etc.
  • Cross-module integration experience with MM/PP/SD/VC is preferred
  • Understanding of SAP applications stack, including PI/PO, EDI, and HANA
  • Excellent communication skills across different cultures and seniority levels
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams
