The Lead Operations Specialist is directly responsible for specialized functions within Middle Office Operations, including the more complex processing and settling of security trades settling at DTC, FRB, Physical, International and futures clearing. This would include activities such broker confirm matching, failed trade reporting and resolution, trade settlement, SPO processing, class action filings and Client communication 1. Transactions Processing - Confirms client trade details match broker confirmations for various types of securities. Matching includes account number, quantity, security ID, etc. Security types include domestic equity/fixed, global equity/fixed, currency forwards, spot fx, futures.- Enriches settlement instructions as needed.- Manages daily volume and adheres to all daily deadlines.- Understands market settlement procedures and restrictions.
2. Problem Resolution - Reviews and resolves pre-settlement discrepancies with client and/or broker to ensure timely settlement.- Reviews and resolves post settlement discrepancies, i.E. Failed trades, factor updates, etc.- Reviews daily emails and reports to identify discrepancies or issues requiring timely resolution.- Escalates unresolved trade and settlement discrepancies to management as needed.
3. Communications - Communicates professionally and constructively via email, phone, etc. With internal and external clients and counterparties to effectively resolve issues in order to minimize risk and exposure. - Provides superior client service.- Communicates as part of a team.- Contributes to Management Reporting. This may include providing feedback on broker issues, custodian issues, audit requests, etc. 4. Process Improvement - Gains efficiencies to improve individual productivity.- Has an understanding of the big picture how specific function impacts the firm.- Communicates errors and issues.- Contributes to Division or Firm process improvement activities.- Assists with testing of system enhancements and/or new systems. 5. Training - Provides training on BBH settlement systems to new employees as well as training existing employee's on new task and functions within the group. - Assists team members with day to day activities/provide back-up support.- Acts as a mentor to new hires. - BA/BS degree.- 1 to 2 years experience - Demonstrated PC skills.- Ability to identify, escalate and resolve a problem.- Ability to communicate professionally through effective verbal and written skills.- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.- Organizational skills and detail-oriented.- Ability to multi-task.- Ability to work in a team environment.- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
