Director of Interactive Experience

The ideal candidate will be experienced in the game development space, who has been a part of building something new. Deep technical knowledge and experience with building/customizing game-engines, as well as back-end server-architectures, to support new use-cases is required. Experience working on AR/VR projects preferred. Together with the Principal, will manage internal and external development and planning, as well as coordinating with content, live services, and publisher stakeholders. He or she has the responsibility of assembling and managing a team of engineers to execute on the technological approach agreed upon with the necessary stakeholders; outlining, scheduling and tracking tasks; and making sure the project is headed in the right direction.
" Developing a venue-based platform that enables digital Interactions between guests, content, and artists/live-acts.
" Overseeing technical development on projects of varying scope, from rapid prototyping and testing of new concepts or technologies to the production of a complete product.
" Defines the technological strategy for real-time interactive experiences in conjunction with the development team of each project: pipeline, tools, and key development procedures
" Strong emphasis on multi-player gaming experiences, while still exploring other interactive experience opportunities.
" Assist Principal in building out functional team, ensuring the interactive function is staffed with the engineering talent required to meet business objectives as needs develop and progress through the project lifecycle.
" Lead development cycles in partnership with Product function for gaming products, and other interactive experience products
" Strategic thinking around partner opportunities, outside vendor resources and the right mix of internal development.
" Contributes to concept design, overall vision of the product, which includes game play, visual style, story, audio assets, cinematics, and marketing materials.
" Assesses technical risk and mitigation plan
" Establishes standards and procedures to track and measure project's progression
" Scouts for and evaluates new technology and tools as opportunities for innovation and development excellence
" Oversees technical design documentation process for correctness and timeliness
" Provides input to the other disciplines on the practicality of initial design goals and impact to the overall project timeline
" Evaluates software implementation on design and task thoroughness
" Helps to identify high risk areas for the project director
" Identifies weak software systems that need code improvement and schedules corrective action, when possible
" Aids in all stages of post-production including during finalizing
" Oversee quality assurance effort in coordination with internal and/or external resources.
" Creates automated test process for system features, where possible, and contributes to the build system
" Evaluates development teams, identifying strengths, problem areas, and developing plans for improving performance
" Design and lead play testing procedures, evaluation
" Bachelor's degree and 7 10 years of experience in the gaming industry, or other experimental experience related work
" Strong management skills
" Developer of talent
" Track record in achieving results
" At least 5+ years of experience specifically leading teams through development cycles.
" Play testing experience is preferred.
