Reporting into Production Services Finance and Compliance head in New York, this role covers day-to-day technical and functional support of Finance systems dealing with accounting, ledgers, PNL's, reporting, etc OR Compliance and Control applications that involve reconciliation, reporting, compliance or legal approval based applications. The role demands working in collaboration with global production services and application development teams while dealing with technical issues and global/regional business users requests. The role offers excellent opportunity for individuals interested in production support hands on leadership roles with an inclination to work across multiple functional streams relating to investment banking business. Key Requirements -
  • Experience of working in production environment and in depth understanding of urgency to resolve production issues that may have impact to business
  • Excellent Production Support attitude, communication and relationship building skills
  • Detailed functional knowledge of Finance business in investment banking business
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge with hands-on experience of working in production support team
  • Sound ability to interpret technical specifications, assess production issues, investigate issues pertaining to data flow between applications
  • Ability to identify areas of improvement in applications, automate manual/repeatable tasks
  • Knowledge and ability to ensure processes/ tools are in place to monitor proper functioning of applications and infrastructure
  • Excellent knowledge of production support processes Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, Knowledge Management, etc
  • Be able to guide the team to operate efficiently with proper time management
  • Knowledge and ability to produce KPI's on application and team performance & other KPI indicators
  • Professional Ethics Compliance and Risk Management
Responsibilities will include:
  • Provide hands on support for Finance or Compliance/Control applications, including data flows between applications
  • Handle support on technical application issues, monitoring and complex user queries, ensuring minimum escalations to development teams
  • For Vice President only Excellent Leadership skills, be able to manage team while working on handon issues. Be the second in line/ delegate for the PS regional head incase of major incidents, meeting, holiday coverage etc
  • Stakeholder management Excellent relationship with team and managers across global production services, application development teams and business users
  • Automation, application improvements with appropriate documentation
  • Adherence to ITIL based support processes like Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, Access to Production, etc
  • Pre-production and production release deployments, change ticket review and approvals
  • Weekend rotational support for release deployments and production governance.
  • Team Player share excellent relationship with peers and managers globally
  • High level technical responsibilities of Principal Production Services
    1. Prevention Ensure production environment stability. Evaluate if infrastructure or environment changes cause any impact to production
    2. Correction - Continuous monitoring and automation of recurring issues
    3. Adaptation - Modification of applications to comply with new standards and new systems
    4. Perfection - Improvement of application/infrastructure to enhance performance or reliability
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
Required Experience
  • Hands on knowledge of Database Sybase/SQL Server/Oracle
  • Hands on Unix/Linux skills including Shell/Perl scripting
  • Hands on knowledge of ETL/Informatica good to have
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools Autosys/ Control-M / Cron tab
  • Financial services /investment banking experience preferred
  • Experience or/and Knowledge of Settlement systems like BPS/Gloss, Payment systems like Swift
  • Experience or/and Knowledge of Collateral and Exposure management systems preferred
  • Experience of monitoring software and maintaining/improving rule bases, automation of routine tasks
  • Working within ITIL standards and structured, formal environments mandatory - ITIL certification preferred
  • Hands-on experience of using tools such as Remedy or Service Now - Desirable
