Operations Specialist - OTC Derivatives
Analyzes all securities as to income, amortization, gain/loss, market prices, tax and book treatment. Addresses routine items with other groups within the Fund Accounting, Middle Office Operations and Fund Administration departments. Assists with the research process for payment deviations and devise solutions using the Invest One accounting system. Assists with Securities Analysis projects as needed including (but not limited to) yield analysis, original issue discount, and market discount/premium. Develops and maintains a working familiarity with applicable laws, regulations and interpretations governing accounting treatment, including the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Internal Revenue code, GAAP, Regulation S-X and other applicable rules and regulations including keeping up on current market events and trends.
Maintains awareness of all regulatory changes affecting funds. Generates and maintains various daily and monthly reports used for Financial Reporting and Fund Tax department. Assists client with all questions regarding yields, interest, accretion, amortization, and payments. Assures all external and internal customer requests are processed in a timely manner. Backs up other Securities Analysis Representatives' desks as needed. Communicates appropriately with the Senior Securities Analysis Representatives with respect to all timetables and workflow, and communicating to the extent appropriate, all relevant matters with other department members within BBH. Evaluates and suggests enhancements to Eagle/InvestOne (BBH Denver's Fund Accounting system) and reports to enhance/automate processes. Performs special projects as directed by Securities Analysis Seniors/Manager Creates, updates and reviews group procedures to assist team performance BS/BA degree with business concentration required; finance or accounting major preferred.
